| Flames of War |
Welcome!
Flames of War is an Alliance Guild on Blackwing Lair which welcomes all people including lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, two-spirited, and queer (LGBTQ) players and their supportive heterosexual allies. We are on a PvP server which means we don't mind getting killed once in a while if it means we can return the favour in the near future. We are a social guild (versus end-game, or PvP guild) which focuses on making friends, leveling, sharing resources, and having fun in the company of cool people.
We have a growing Vault, member designed/voted tabard, member forums (intro/pic threads, guild event info, WoW links, etc), our own Vent server, and a range of professions and classes to help out. Guild ranks are unique to reflect how members want to contribute to the guild and include titles like Field General, Shadow, Phoenix, or Crafter.
We recognize that World of Warcraft can contain a lot of homophobia & transphobia in the forms of slurs and slangs ("that's so gay"), stereotypes, being kicked from groups or guilds, harassment, and more. Sometimes this makes LGBTQ people's experience uncomfortable and unwelcoming, and can inhibit connection and friendship to other gamers. Since FoW is a purely social guild, the environment and way members relate is important to us.
FoW endeavours to be a space free of homophobia or transphobia, and where LGBTQ people and their heterosexual allies can mix and mingle casually and talk openly about issues that are important to them.
Want to join? Read [this forum post] about how to join FoW or our forums.
Thanks, and have fun! :)

| Guild Pictures, Zul'Gurub, Alts and 70s |
We've had a wonderfully busy January 2008!
Our guildies are taking some great pictures, from fun pvp events to our guild raid on Zul'Gurub, and even our adventures in Loch Modan or Elwynn Forest. We also had an official guild picture-taking. All of these great pictures are available on our forum for registered members.
We're also seeing an influx of new players who are starting fresh or transferring their mains over. New alts, new lvl 70s ... such a great mix of fun that makes playing WoW that much better.

| Growth and Expansion |
Our social guild continues to grow! We have new members of all level ranges joining our ranks, from level 1 to level 70. We're seeing players transfer their mains here ... that's great! Our growth means our Vault is packed with gear, mats, and recipes; we have a range of expertise and trade skills to offer fellow guildies; there are folks of all levels online; instance runs happen much more easily; and PVP help is just a message away (hopefully!)
So join in on the fun! Read up about our values, our previous events, our unique rank system, our other guild events, and more in our forums [here].
See you around! |
